This project “Siren Song” for my Music Technology final consists of a substantial amount of sound design. Using spear I manipulated the spectral elements of each sound before processing it in Audacity and then ProTools. I utilized a sampler, midi, automation, and mixing techniques. A combination of found recordings that I took over the year: random guitar riffs, a car rev sampled across 88 keys, distorted train sounds from London, and a rumbling fire. I layered all of these sounds on some 808 beats I created to produce a hectic movement. The purpose of the song was to hypnotize the listener towards danger with repetitive movement and sudden interruptions.
